“Writing is the closest thing we have to real magic. Writing is creating something out of nothing, is opening doors to other lands."
- R.F. Kuang
Writing has been my magic of exploring the connections between myself, my community, and our environment––all complex and changing over time. My own writings mostly take the form of poetry, as I love the endless creativity it leverages me. It helps me stay grounded within my life—the sounds, sights, and stories I exist in that make up my culture and surroundings. Often, I gravitate toward writing about my adoption, my family, and my identity.
